Dear National Guard of Texas,
I am writing to you on behalf of the inmates inside TDCJ who are suffering and dying due to the lack of proper care and adequate staffing within the prison system. I receive emails from inmates every week, detailing the dangerous and dire conditions they are forced to endure.
There have been recent incidents of suicide and violence within the prison walls, and it is clear that the situation is only going to get worse if immediate action is not taken. The lack of staff and resources is putting the lives of inmates at risk, and we are in desperate need of help.
I urge you to step in and provide assistance to these inmates who are suffering. Whether it be through increased staffing, better medical care, or oversight from federal authorities, something must be done to address the dangerous conditions within TDCJ.
The prisoners are not sentenced to death, yet they are dying due to neglect and lack of care. It is imperative that accountability is brought to those responsible for these deaths, and that measures are put in place to ensure the safety and well-being of all inmates.
Please consider the urgency of this situation and take action to help those who are suffering. The National Guard of Texas has the resources and expertise to make a tangible difference in the lives of these inmates, and I implore you to intervene on their behalf.
